You Oughta Know! We’re back and we’re bringing the 90s with us across Ontario this Spring.
Since this current decade hasn’t exactly gone as planned, it makes perfect sense to shake it off and jump back to a decade where our biggest problems were having to print off our Mapquest directions. Come celebrate the era when the internet made strange noises and we weren’t all checking our phone every 15 seconds.
With the recent news, we have decided to move our New Year’s Eve show back online. We’re excited that we’ll be live streaming from the band’s studio.
Last year’s NYE livestream was a special moment for us as it allowed us to connect with so many people regardless of geography.
It will be free to tune in to make it as accessible as possible. We’ll be accepting donations with 50% of net proceeds supporting a worthy cause: the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). If you’re eager to donate early, you can do so now HERE.
If you have a ticket to HISTORY, you will be receiving a full refund to your payment card in the coming weeks.
We encourage you to join us starting at 10 pm EST on December 31 – you can tune in right here at dwaynegretzkyband.com.
Something about “Dwayne Gretzky at Massey Hall” sounds completely surreal. But, here we are :) :)
We’ve been extremely fortunate as a band, and every milestone has meant something to us, from the first time a line formed outside the Dakota Tavern over 10 years ago, to being invited to perform at Toronto’s many classic clubs and venues since then. Not to mention festivals, weddings, and countless other stages that we’ve been invited onto over the years. But when it comes to stages to be invited to play music on, this one just…. sits differently.
Massey Hall has its own place in our hearts. As passionate music fans ourselves, stepping into the same space as our heroes will be an incredible feeling. Many songs from our catalogue have a history in that very building, which is not lost on us.
We’re thrilled to be able to invite our friends and fans to participate in this apex moment for us as a band who never imagined could get to this point.
It’s a true honour to be invited onto this stage and we plan to make the most of it. We hope you’ll plan to join us at Massey Hall on October 14, 2022.

Tonight Will Be a Night to Remember, Literally and Virtually
At long last we can all say goodbye to 2020. We’re eager to tip our hat to what’s been a weird one, and we acknowledge that it has been (and continues to be) a struggle for many.
For the moment at least, Dwayne Gretzky is feeling grateful. Not only are we thankful to be able to play music together again after such a long time, but we’ve been excited to get creative and think about our band and the experience we help create in a whole new context.
That’s why we’re elated about tonight. It’s going to be a Dwayne Gretzky show like none other. The idea of pushing ourselves has always motivated us. Whether it’s to learn new songs, or in this case, a whole new medium. A live Dwayne broadcast!
Aside from it being virtual with viewers from across the country and beyond, it’ll also be the longest show we’ve ever played – and we’ve done some doozies. It’ll be roughly 55 songs from start to finish, from midnight in Newfoundland all the way until midnight in BC.
So all that to say, we hope you don’t miss it.
Below is a guide to some extra info and details so you can get the most out of it.

As we all know, social distancing is the most important thing we can do to help beat the virus. Everyone in the band has been doing their part by staying home and avoiding social gatherings. Although this has been challenging, it has also given us the opportunity to connect which each other in a different way.
This version of Tom Petty’s You Don’t Know How It Feels was shot entirely in self isolation using our smart phones. What a joy to play music together again! Big thanks to our good friend Dan Tahmizian for editing the video and our very own Ian Docherty for mixing the song. Enjoy! And stay safe!
