Announcing: Dwayne Gretzky New Years Eve live stream presented by Smirnoff. This year, our annual New Years Eve party will be in your living room. The free live stream will be accessible to anyone with a device and a wifi connection all the way – across Canada – and beyond! Set a Youtube reminder via the link in our bio so you don’t miss it. Because you can’t spell Dwayne without NYE.
Tune in from wherever you are across Canada, and let Dwayne count down your fresh new year no matter what time zone you’re in. Starting with New Years Eve in Newfoundland, and going all the way until we count in 2021 on the west coast.
As we all know, social distancing is the most important thing we can do to help beat the virus. Everyone in the band has been doing their part by staying home and avoiding social gatherings. Although this has been challenging, it has also given us the opportunity to connect which each other in a different way.
This version of Tom Petty’s You Don’t Know How It Feels was shot entirely in self isolation using our smart phones. What a joy to play music together again! Big thanks to our good friend Dan Tahmizian for editing the video and our very own Ian Docherty for mixing the song. Enjoy! And stay safe!
You Oughta Know! Big Shiny Dwayne returns this May with a VERY special edition – this time, we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of Alanis Morissette’s best-selling record Jagged Little Pill, plus a whole second set of all the other giant 90s tunes.
25 years ago, Alanis Morissette released her third studio album, a stylistic departure from previous dance-pop work that quickly became a staple in the alt-rock/post-grunge world. Jagged Little Pill was HUGE, topping the charts and making Alanis Morissette the youngest artist in history to win Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.
On Saturday, May 23 we celebrate Jagged Little Pill cover-to-cover, followed by a set of classic Big Shiny Dwayne 90s tunes.
The fan club presale starts March 11 – sign up HERE.

We pulled some of our favourite recordings from last year’s secret show – Purple Rain, You Can Call Me Al, God Only Knows & more – and put them together into a live album! We’ll be sharing select videos from the show as well, but in the meantime liven up your Friday night plans with the live Dwayne experience, out now.
Last year we brought our biggest fans together for a secret show at the Opera House in Toronto, and we recorded and filmed the whole thing. We loved the live versions so much we decided to put them together and release them as an album. Now you can put the live Dwayne experience into your ears wherever you are.
A Night at the Opera House hits the internet this Friday. Pre-save HERE.
We did a little rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop” in support of Movember which you can listen to now on the internet!
We’re one of 60 independent artists who were asked to cover a track by a moustached musical legend for the campaign’s Mo Sound Spotify playlist and 50% of all profits go directly to Movember, so go give it a stream HERE.
